I am sure that you know that Grace Family belongs in a class of cult Cabernet producers like a few I have talked about.  Grace Family is a legacy, offering incredible, handcrafted wines that give pleasure now but will age (grace)fully in your cellar.  You gotta know that I have a big smile about this one.

This is a rich and well-structured Cabernet with beautiful floral notes that lead into bright, ripe red and black fruit.  Red cherries, black currants, savory minerals, with a hint of tobacco, toffee, and fresh herbs.  This youthful, full-bodied Cabernet is vibrant with good acidity, a firm structure, fine grained tannins, and a long, beautiful finish. 

Dick (Grace) was in Tibet when I visited Grace (April 2008) and I am looking forward to meeting Dick on my next trip up to the valley.  I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the winemaker, Gary Brookman, for a short walk around the beautiful two acre vineyard in St. Helena and tasting of current and upcoming releases.  This was a real treat!  The Blank Vineyard in Rutherford offers savory aromatics and intensely flavored dark small berries.  At first I was told that Grace Family has an overloaded active list of restaurant and shops and they could not accommodate any new accounts but after they checked out my A-List, they came back with a nice allocation (Way to go Tanya!).

What more can I say?  These are very limited.
